Dining Abby-style!

Tonight was our first night to eat dinner in our high chair. Abby didn't eat anything, she just kept momma & dada company while we did. We are trying to get her acclimated to it, so when we start food in a few weeks she will be used to it.

She has started making the most hilarious faces...I will upload a video when I get around to charging the camcorder. She has also started drooling so MUCH! I am so proud of my little girl. She is cooing so much and playing so great.

We are also getting onto a schedule (kind of) we go to bed around 9pm and get up between 6 & 7am. We eat our bottle and play for another hour to hour and a half, then nap. Most of her naps are more like small cat naps, but she does has one good one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We feel so lucky because she has been an "easy" baby and is such a happy baby. She doesn't get her morning happiness from me, I am as grumpy as they come. But Abby is so cheerful when she sees her momma & dadas face in the morning. It makes my hear melt.

Anyways, that is all for now!

Thank goodness for the bow or you might think this was our little boy abby :-) haha!! I am just waiting for her to have enough hair for a hair bow...I have like 10 already :-)

Hip - Hip - HOORAY!!

This may be the most exciting post I have done besides announcing we were preggo with Abs or that she had arrived!! Abby slept throught the night the past TWO NIGHTS!! I was hoping that this would happen soon, but figured it was a few more weeks off! But I put her down Sunday night at 9:30pm, and she didn't get up until 6:15am and last night she went to sleep at 9 and got up at 6! I am sooo proud of her, and happy to get uninterrupted sleep!

Just wanted to share my happy news!

Pool Time & The Beach!

Last Saturday, after the rain stopped, we got out Abby's new pool! I will post the video of it later! But I was able to snap some pictures we took while Daddy was inflating the pool! She is going to be a looker at the beach :-)

On Sunday, we left our sweet daddy at home for a relaxing stay at the beach! I never realized how much stuff I would need with a baby, but it was easy since I made a list! We enjoyed some good seafood and sun! My mother in law Joyce & her sister's Laura & Kaki were so sweet to let Kate & I go to the beach on Monday! It was a beautiful day, and was a refreshing time to spend just relaxing! I know I will be a better mommy because of a small break away from my sweet baby. We came home yesterday, and we were so excited to see daddy! He had missed his girls!

Tommorow Abby will have her first spend the night party at Grandma & Grandpa's. Everett & I will be heading to Florence, AL for the wedding of Ben & Johndra! We spent alot of time with Ben while Ev & him were in Optometry School! He is a wonderful guy & I know he will be a great husband! We cannot wait to see everyone and help the new couple celebrate their new life! Tootles!!

Stats & Shots!!

Our first family photo - Abby is wearing her hippy outfit from Grandma

Cute little feet hanging out of our new fave - the Bumbo!!

Enjoying her bumbo time!

Today was Miss Abby's 2 month checkup! Boy has she grown!!
Weight - 10lbs 12oz - 50% percentile
Height - 24 1/4 - OFF THE CHARTS - 100% percentile
Head - 15 1/4 - 50% percentile

How funny is that! :-) She is growing & eating great, so we are happy that our little Abs is happy too! She was so silly and happy to be at the doctors office until it was time for our (mommy's) dreaded shots! Luckily she was a little hungry so she took her pacy - it was hilarious when they gave her the rotovirus liquid, she sucked it like her bottle. Then it was on to the shots - 2 in each leg! Talk about a red faced - silent baby - then she let it rip! She stopped crying after it was over then I nursed her! She immediately fell asleep, and slept for another 2 hours at home. She just woke up & guzzled down 5 ounces. So far she is doing well, she is playing on her gym mat. I am giving her Tylenol today every 4 hours to make sure she doesn't get sore.

Tommorow, we are planning on getting her in her bathing suit and the new kiddie pool we got. I will post pictures!

That is all for now!

2 Months old & Playtime at Grandma's

Hello world! My name is Abigail " Abby" Marshall and I am two months old!!

I cannot believe my sweet girl is 2 months old today! She is growing and changing so much...I am enjoying every minute I spend with her.
Today, we went to visit out grandma (my mom)! My mom is doing great and has already lost 12 lbs! Abby & I are enjoying visiting her while she is recouperating at home. We got an extra special visit from Kate & Addison this morning - and got some really cute pictures.

My grandma (Abby's Great Grammy) got Addison & Abby matching outfits. We got the pictures today, luckily before Abby outgrew hers. Abby is so long she is already in 3 month outfits....still a little slimmer in the middle, but she is getting a good little chunk on her.

Tonight, is the Montgomery AU Club Dinner so our Mimi will be coming over to spoil Abby :-) We are so lucky to have great parents that want to soak in every minute with their grandbabies!!

Tootles for now!

Addison will be 1 month old on Thursday! Ain't she cute!!

Abby & Addie - Abs is laughing because she kept bonking her cousin in the head :-)

This is what our grandma's are good for....tuckering out the little ones :-)

More Updates...

Mary Paige "lil Momma" - with Abby at the P'stone reunion
Everett made Abby a name tag! So very cute!

My mom is home and doing really well. Abby & I went to visit her yesterday and Abby was so happy to see her grandma. Today, Everett, Abby & I went to the farmer's market at East Chase - we really were looking for some 'maters, but they didn't have any yet. They did have alot of cool items and wonderful fresh veggies. Later today we are going to go shopping with Aunt Kate to help her find something to wear to a wedding next week. Ev & I will be going to a wedding of his Optometry buddy, Ben & his sweet fiancee Johndra in 2 weeks. We cannot wait! Abby will be having her first overnight stay at her Grandma & Grandpa's house that weekend. I know I will miss her dearly, but she will be in good hands!!

On a sad note : MY BABY IS GROWING UP! Abby has moved into size 1 diapers...buh-bye newborn size. I must say it is bittersweet, but I do love watching my little angel grow & learn. She smiles all the time and is such a happy & good baby. We still aren't sleeping through the night, but we only get up once between 2-4am.

Updates on Mom...

My mom is doing FABULOUS!! I am so glad she isn't in much pain, and that she is finally in her private room. She ate her liquids yesterday - chicken broth and sugar free jello. She will have to eat solids today - probablly eggs - before they discharge her. She should be released sometime this afternoon. She has been up and walking and resting as well.

I will have to say so far, we have not been impressed with the level of care she has recieved at UAB. Pre-surgery they were great...but now, she will call the nurse 4 times and no one comes....and she was in the "observation" room when this happened. I guess I got spoiled at Baptist East, because they came everytime I called and I hadn't had MAJOR surgery. But then again, it is a huge hospital compared to Baptist East and most airports :-) haha!!

Thank you for all the prayers! It definately made us relax & know she is in good hands. Please keep her in your prayers as she begins this new life! Again, sooo soooo soooooooo PROUD of her!!

Tootles!

Updates...

So, I am finally home....and completely exhausted! I have been up since 3:10am! My mom went into surgery prep at around 6am, and went into surgery at 7:30. She was done and in recovery by around 10 am. She stayed in recovery for about 2 hours, when we were told she would be moved into her room in about 10 minutes. So we hauled her things to her room. And waited...waited...and waited. The surgeon said that mom's surgery went really well! So this made me a little nervous. Then we nominated my grandma to go ask where mom was, and that's when they told us they had moved her room to an observation room. This normally wouldn't freak me out, besides the fact that a scary sick looking older woman would be sharing the room with my mom. The door had scary messages on it, like fall risk & aspiration risk. Needless to say, when I learned my sweet mother would be occupying this room, that is a wall of windows directly in front of the nurses station, I got worried. And then we waited....and waited....I really started to get panicky. Maybe it was a mix of being hungry, tired, missing Abby & worrying about my mom...but I was moments away from being hysterical and grabbing a nurse by her throat and asking her where my mommy was?? So I took my sweet and calm daddy (who I am just alike, so I know he was feeling the same as I) to get a drink and crackers. So we stood by the vending machine and drank our drinks and shared a pack of crackers. Then we walked back up to her room, and saw the gurney outside...my mother had FINALLY made it to her room. She looked great, and was still sleepy from anestesia. But she squeezed my hand and spoke to me. I then learned she was doing great, they just wanted to observe her tonight since she has sleep apnea. Tommorow they will move her to a private room. I just got an update from my dad - my mom has sat up for about an hour and has gotten up to go potty 3 times. The nurses are planning on getting her up and walking tonight. She isn't in much pain, and I pray that continues. She only has 7 holes where the surgery was don lyphoscopically. I hope she has a good night tonight, and gets her rest. Again, can I tell you how proud of her I AM!!

Abby did great for her daddy & Mimi. She only got up 2 times. When I got home today, I cannot tell you how happy it made me to be home. I didn't even grab Abby right when I walked in...the emotion of the day led me to tears. I still feel like I could have a good cry, but there is more time for that later :-) Abby cried when I picked her up - they tell me she didn't fuss all day. So Abs & I went back into her room and I began nursing her. I cannot tell you how reliving this was...for her & I.

Anyways, I will update more on my momma tommorow. I am sooooo tuckered out!

Nite nite!!

Pictures & Prayers...

Abby & her grandma

I am writing this blog from the Courtyard by Marriot (fabulous beds) located right next to UAB. My mom will be having gastric bypass surgery at 6am tommorow morning. I am so proud of her decision to make such a drastic and needed change in her life. Please pray for her that her surgery and recovery go as expected! She is such a strong woman, and I cannot wait to see her on the first day of the rest of her life.

I will update the blog tommorow night, if I get a chance. This is also my first night away from my precious Abby. Everett's mother Joyce is staying at our house with Ev to help take care of Abby. I hope she is good for her Mimi. I changed her diaper this afternoon right before I left and really got sad, and almost cried. I am sure I will be dying (my boobies too) to get back to my sweet angel.

Here are some updated pictures of our girl...
