How Cool...

Today at work, I thought to myself about the baby growing inside me. We have already been together for 3 months, and when we finally meet we will have known each other for almost a year. It is like having a special friend that you love even though you have never actually met. I can only imagine what that moment will hold when I finally meet this little child, my first born, a person that is part of me, a person I had a hand in creating...a beautiful gift from above.

What a amazing thing! Sorry for being sappy...but this is so cool!

Bean Marshall & Lima Bell...God Is Good!!!

So I can finally blab my BIG mouth with the glorious news, I had prayed I could share...
that my sweet sister (in law) Kate and her husband Scott are expecting their first baby!!

We had a scare last week when she went to the doctor and turns out she wasn't as far along as they thought. Her progesterone levels were low as well - signs that she may have had a misscarriage before she actually found out their wonderful news. With the help of medicine, prayer and tons of support from those who love them - they stayed strong and hopeful. Last week, we got good news after the initial appointment, that her levels of progesterone & HcG had doubled, so the levels were going up like we hoped.

Today was a BIG day for them, and they got to see their little "Lima Bell's" heartbeat! A glorious and amazing sight!! Now, they can begin their journey to being a momma & daddy, like Ev & I have been able to begin. She is 6 weeks and 1 day, so the babies (depending on acutal dates of birth) have the chance to be only a month apart. And our youngest niece, Madeline, will be the best little helper as she will only be 18 months older than both!!

As far as the name goes "Lima Bell" ...yep it's corny like Bean Marshall, and who do you think came up with it?? Yep ME!!

Other Great NEWS!!! ( I know I am cramming alot into this blog) We get another new sister (in law) with our wonderful addition of Meredith and her upcoming marriage to Matt! We are sooo happy for them and see a bright and happy future. Two great people have met, and we couldn't be more thrilled.

Last week was a WILD one!! But A Very HAPPY & HOPEFUL one!! That's all for now...tootles!!!

My Little Jumping Bean

So today was our 10 week appointment - and it went REALLY well! For starters we got one of the first appointments of the day and I highly recommend that! Everett was able to go with me since he scheduled his patients later in the day.
The ultrasound was even better this time. What a difference 4 weeks makes...what was a little dot is now an actual baby! And boy was it excited to have it's picture taken. I couldn't stop laughing because it was moving, and I don't mean a little leg here, a little leg there...we are talking Billy Blanks Tae Bo Jam. It was amazing to see our little baby moving and grooving. I know, it is no shock that our child wouldn't be sitting there twiddling it's thumbs :-)

Everett also got to meet Dr. Lawhon, and he also told us everything looks great. The baby is measuring like it's supposed to. We also got to hear the heartbeat through the Doppler - and it was sweet music to our ears. A solid - steady beat!! Another fun fact I learned from the appointment was that I hadn't gained a pound since my last appointment - this completely flabergasted me ( i am not flabber- whatever :-) very often so) And I have been eating like a champ! No baby belly yet, but hopefully soon! I cannot wait to show the world my little bean!!

Anyways, that is all for now! Next appointment is in October and our November visit is the big one, where we find out the sex!! WHOOP WHOOP!!

Owwww...What is that?

So yesterday we went to Aunt Khaki's house to get the Poundstone Family cradle for little Bean.
I have been so good about not lifting things (even though I didn't think it mattered yet) so when I had to lift part of it, it did it and it was fine. Well, last night I woke up to tinkle, as is my new nightly routine, and when I went back to bed had some pain in my back. I tried to sleep but got up about 4am because it hurt. I went into our guest bathroom, and tried to feel it out. As the wonderful hypochondriac that I am, I was sure it was my kidney or my something in my body was about to explode. I woke Ev up and he said take some Tylenol...yep that's it. No poor baby...he isn't falling for that yet i guess. Anyways, I took Tylenol and got into the bathtub and soaked. It felt much better. So i went back to sleep.

I called the doctor this morning because it was concerning to me and the area was still very sore. Turns out that your muscles can get a little rowdy when your preggers. She told me I must have overdone it. Go figure, but at least it wasn't an organ that was hurting. I am one of those people who asks (anyone who knows) "What is right here? Cause it hurts"

Anyways, Monday is our BIG 10 week appointment. I have been told we may be able to hear the heartbeat. I have my fingers crossed that we will. I can't wait to get a baby belly...I've got baby pouch right now...which would work out well if I was a marsupial :-) haha!!! I promise I will add belly pictures as soon as I look preg and not all you can eat buffet girl!

WAR EAGLE for Now!!

Finally...some shopping!

No...I haven't been buying baby clothes or anything like that :-) You can talk to my mother about that - She is overjoyed and cannot wait...just because the baby isn't here yet doesn't mean she can't indulge them. At the rate we are going - the baby will have 50 Going to Grandma onesies... but hey I am sure I will be the same way.

Saturday was a fun day - as my mom, Aunt Cindi, Grandmother & I went to Storkland to order my crib. I am in love with it and cannot believe how affordable it was. It is from the Annabelle Collection from Million Dollar Baby. I lucked into already having a dresser and changing table, courtesy of my parents first bedroom furniture. Right now it is dark wood and groovy gold drawer pulls...nothing a little sandpaper and white paint won't cure. It will be here in about 12 weeks - so perfect time as I will be 22 weeks by then and will know what baby bean - is.

Right now, I think it is a boy for some reason, but Everett thinks it is a girl - so who knows, either way it is going to be a life changing experience and I cannot wait to meet our child. Now I see why many of my friends who have recently given birth were so anxious to meet their babies. I was too...but i figure i don't need to wish this time away. I will enjoy it while I can.

My "morning sickness" if you can call it that - more like "all day I really wanna vomit, but it isn't happening sickness" has been gone for about a week now. I read that that is because the placenta has taken over - hip - hip- hooray! If i could hug the placenta I would - I know I am not out of the woods for more of the same, but this break has been great. Anywhoo...that is all that La, Ev & The Bean have been up to.

I might be human...

So today, is the first day that I have experienced the least amount of nausea. I actually feel like a happy pregnant girl! YAY!
Ev will be very happy tonight, as I will be cooking dinner for the first time in a few weeks! It is just so hard to plan for dinner when you really don't know what you want to eat. So I got a craving for this yummie casserole that I learned to make forever ago. My mom made this for me as long as I can remember...definately a keeper for the sharing recipe department. If you are a little mexican lover like me, Enjoy!!

Lorenzo's Hot Chicken

3 Chicken Breasts - cooked & shredded
1 can of cream of chicken
1 can of cream of mushroom
1 can of original Rotel tomatoes
I bag of Doritos Chips
2 cups of cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350. In a 9X13 pyrex dish, sprayed with pam - crush 1/2 of a bag of Doritos and layer that on the bottom of the dish. (If you are a weight watcher you can use the WOW Doritos...as a preggo I will use the REAL DEAL)
Next, mix the 3 cans in a bowl and add the chicken. Pour this over the chips in your dish.
Then, sprinkle the cheese over the top. (I normally by the publix monterray jack & cheddar mixtured...it gives it some spice)
Put in the oven and cook for 30 minutes or until bubbly.

This is a super yummie dish - goes good with bread & salad.

That's all from me for now! Seems I have food on the brain, haha!!
