Holey Moley....

So today was my 37 week appointment - Last week I was dilated 1cm...now I am at 3cm. Which totally is exciting and freaking me out at the same time! So Abby may make her debut before our scheduled induction on April 13th. She has dropped down and that makes walking look even more FABulous :-) I will keep you posted! I go back to the doctor next Tuesday at 1:30, or as Dr. Lawhon said, I will see you in a week if not before :-) AHHHH!!

Full-Term at a Wedding & Baby Shower....

YAY!! 37 weeks preggo today! It is so surreal that 2 weeks from today we will be going to the hospital to begin our journey! We couldn't be more excited and ready to meet our most precious gift! We feel so blessed to have had a easy (for the most part) and healthy pregnancy and have a healthy baby girl on her way home!

This weekend has been a whirlwind! Friday, I went for my last hair appointment before Abby's arrival ( i want to look good for my girl!) and then off to my new sister in law Meredith's bridesmaids luncheon. It was really beautiful and the food was great! That night we had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner...my husband constantly amazes me...everyone thinks he is so shy, but give him a glass of wine and a wonderful brother to toast and he can be quite the comedian! :-)

On Saturday, we ventured out into the rain to the church to celebrate Meredith & Matt becoming husband and wife. She was everything a bride should be...so beautiful and he of course, a very handsome groom. Then it was onto Wynlakes for the reception...it was all a pregnant girl could dream of....brunch and cakes, cupcakes, cakes and cakes!! I told myself that I would branch out since there were about 10 kinds of cake to try...but nope! I stuck with my most favorite and one that I have had before - red velvet! Oh MY Oh MY! And to top of it they had boxes for you to take cake and cupcakes home! It was really a lovely wedding and beautiful reception! Our family is now complete...and that is so cool! That night we gathered at my bro & Sis in laws house to cook out and had a great time! We had 4 preggos and a bunch of kiddies running around. Don't drink after the Marshall girls - Me - 2 more weeks (Abby), Kate - 34 weeks (Addison), Kristal - 31 weeks (Marissa) and Hollis - due sometime in July :-) (Little Will)!!

Pardon the SHOUT OUT! Congrats to Mr & Mrs Matthew David Marshall....have fun and drink some yummies for me in Jamaica!!

Today is Kate's baby shower! I am so excited for her & Scott! They are going to be wonderful parents!! I cannot wait to meet my new niece Addison, and I know once Abby arrives, it will be no time until Kate will be due! Time will fly like never before!

To top it all off, I am so freaking hoarse I cant' stand it! I am a talker (maybe an understatement), but have lost my voice from a lovely sinus infection! So, if you see me and I don't speak...don't feel offended...you probablly wouldn't understand me anyway :-) haha!!

Tuesday afternoon I make my trip back to see Dr. Lawhon and see how we are progressing! I will update my blog again then!

I'm on the books...Baptist East here I come...

So as you can tell from the title of this blog...I got some exciting news at my doctor's appointment this morning. For starters, I am already 1cm dilated and my cervix is very soft and beginning to efface/thin. This news was really exciting for us! Also, Dr. Lawhon went ahead and scheduled us for our induction in about 2.5 weeks. We will be celebrating Easter at Baptist East - we go in on Sunday, April 12th and will be induced on Monday, April 13th. So our precious Abby will be here on Monday the 13th!

It is surreal to know the date you will meet your child...if i make it the 19 days until then.
We go back to the doctor next Tuesday at 1:30pm, so we will take it from there!

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers during this amazing experience. 3 weeks from now our first born will be here, and we couldn't be happier or more anxious to meet her!

Questions that have no answers...

So on Sunday night I was having cramps...which came as a suprise...but even though you don't have them for 8.5 months you still remember your old friend (or foe) :-) I woke up Monday and went to work and just didn't feel good. So I called the Dr. and spoke with a nurse...she told me that I might be dehydrated and also asked me if I was having contractions...my response...I dunno - this is my first baby. So she told me that if I started having any to call back if they got regular and 5 minutes apart. Needless to say, this made me very nervous and very excited all at the same time.

So, then I call my mom. Who asks me more questions? Has she dropped...i dunno? Well is you tummy balling up...I dunno? My argument...I have no clue what a contraction "feels" like or if Abby will drop. I have no room left in my Holiday Inn...haha!! Anyways, I came home from work yesterday and relaxed, slept and enjoyed myself. I know now that I was having contractions, but that they weren't in a pattern and they would stop if I rested. I treated myself to chinese last night because I rarely ate the whole day because if I was in labor I didn't want to get sick.
Last night, i felt like a new lady.

For all those who saw my facebook status yesterday - Abby is still cooking and momma is doing well. We that we will meet her in a few weeks and not before. Momma & Daddy are ready to meet their little girl...just want her to be 100% ready for her big debut. That is all for now! I go for my 36 week appointment on Tuesday. Look back then for new!!

Almost Home...

So this next week is my last week to work....I can't say I'm not excited, but I will miss the people I have met at WJ. When I came back from lunch on Wednesday, my cubicle was decorated with pink and white streamers. I then found out they were throwing me a suprise baby shower. My mom even showed up, cause as usual, she knew! We had yummy dips, punch and petitfors.
I feel so thankful for the opportunity to go back to work at Walker Jackson to fill in or be "the temp" as my cousin Laura calls me :-) It has been a great 2 months...but I am happy that I will be home until our daughter arrives. Working and sitting at a desk is no longer quite as comfy as it once was. Abby is growing for her debut and we couldn't be happier!

Brunch Shower...Baby Class...Birmingham

So this past Saturday was my last shower. It was at our cousin Laura Maxey's new house! They just moved in, in Feb. but of course looks so beautiful, it looks like she has been there for way longer. It was great to see everyone and we are really excited and thankful Abby will have family and friends that already care so much about her!! Aunt Laura made quiche....my fave and of course it was brunch so we had cheese grits, biscuits and muffins....PETITFORS of course! I think I could win an all you can eat petifor contest pretty easily :-) After the shower, i got to spend some time with 2 of my sorority sisters who came over to busy. Brooke and Emily came to visit and brought Abby gifts and also Em brought over one of Abby's BFF's Ally...who is a few months old. She was adorable and soooo very sweet! She even tested out Abby's changing table...and even christened it by spitting up a bit :-) It was cute and that is what babys do...I need all the pointers I can get - Thank you Miss Ally!

On Monday night, we had our 4th baby class. They told us about C-sections and what happens if you need one. I am still hoping we go the old fashioned way...but Ev was really excited that he would be the first one to hold Abby. Also, we had a person from the state come talk about car seat safety. You couldn't imagine some of the stories she told us about dad's trying to put the bases into cars...everything from bungee cords, duct tape, bolting it down :-) When we put ours in I will let you know if Ev gets out his tackle box and roll of fishing line :-)

I am also in the process of packing for the hospital, which it looked like might be in the near near future on Monday.

So all day monday, i thought i was leaking amniotic fluid. So when i left work I called the other Dr. Marshall (Hollis - my sisinlaw - on her 3rd...very experienced mommy) and she told me to take it easy and see what Dr. Lawhon said this morning at my appt. She also called during our child birthing class and left me a message telling me that it was a full moon....and you know what that means! Suprisingly, this all got me very excited! So to the doctor my mom & I went this morning. Dr. Lawhon was sick so I saw Dr. Logan who was sooo nice!! I asked her about this ...and drumroll....I've been peeing my pants :-) haha!! Abby is so low on the poor bladder that it just can't take it all the time! So thankfully Abby will get to cook for another 5 weeks or so!

After the doctor we headed to Bham to shop at Target...needless to say Abby got spoiled by her Gramma and I! We then headed to the Summitt and found some cute things for other babys at Swoozies! Then it was on to lunch at my old fave Brio in Brookwood Mall. Leah met us for lunch and it was as good as I remembered...the wait staff, a little stranger than I remember though :-) We then went to Babies R Us...where i was thrilled...a little bit too much...to park in the expectant mother's parking spot! I did feel special...bout time...get it together Montgomery!!
Anyways, our last stop of the day was Edgar's Bakery in Patton Creek, where Mom, Leah, Abby & I enjoyed a strawberry cupcake! Abby really liked it and said she wants more really soon :-)

That is all for now! I got back to see Dr. Lawhon in 2 weeks...then we start weekly visits! Abby will be here before we know it, and we cannot wait to meet our little girl

A small side note to this extremely long post : I googled the meaning of Abigail the other day, and was very excited to find its meaning - "Her father's joy" pretty fitting I do believe!

Snow...a Shower & the Sitz Bath

So as you know ...it snowed this weekend! I was awoken at 6:11am on Sunday morning by Ev telling me that it had snowed. He ran to Hardee's and I had a very yummy Bacon & Egg biscuit with grape jelly...it was supposed to have cheese on it...but they left it off both of ours. I sat and enjoyed watching the snow, then went back to bed. By the time we woke back up at 9:30 the snow had melted from the ground. It sure was pretty while it lasted.
As the snow still continued to fall, I headed to my parents house to pick up my momma. On the way to the shower we stopped by and saw Kate's nursery for Addison. It looks amazing!! Then it was off to the shower for Abby. Some of my bestus girlfriends gave Abby the shower. Everything looked amazing..the food was great and so were the petifors (our favorite) My Grandma Diem, got Abby a hot pink rocking horse that wags her tail. I can't wait to see Abby ride it. We really appreciate everyone who came out on a very cold, wet and nasty Sunday afternoon.

On to Monday night...I was really tired from Sunday so I wasn't to thrilled. Our teacher told us about the delivery and showed us the cool panties I will have to wear and the huge pad for afterwards. She then showed us about the sitz bath, and how the bed breaks down in the LDR rooms. Then I got a little sad...but only because she told us the momma's can't take a bath for 6-8 weeks....showers only! I am a water baby...Everett thought this was funny. But I am sure I won't have much time to worry about not soaking in the tub everynight as I do now. At the end of class, we learned some fast paced breathing...kinda like the hee hee hoo lamaze from movies...but not near as dramatic...thankfully. We got to tour the LDR at Baptist East at the end of class too. I hadn't been there since my last niece was born, and was happy to see all of the renovations. It was really cool to think that I would be delivering our baby next month! I will be A MOMMY NEXT MONTH!! OMG!!!! We did see some cuties in the nursery. One little girl was very ticked off...she was screaming the whole time the nurse gave her a bath. It makes me feel better about not thinking I will break Abby everytime I touch her...they handle the babies like a sack o' taters :-)

Anyways, that is all for now! I got back for our 34 week appointment next week. I really think Miss Abigail has grown alot in the past week...so we shall see! Tootles!!
