I LOVE WHISKEY!

Now that I have your attention :-) haha!! On January 16th, my mom & I, bestie's Katherine, Kelly & Alicia hosted a Kentucky Derby themed shower for our great friend Leah. It was all we hoped for & more. My mom & I made hats for anyone who came to the shower without one. I think we only had one person that didn't bring a hat! It was truly a shower to remember not only for its uniqueness but the reason & love behind this wonderful couple - Leah & Davis! We are so happy for them & cannot wait to see what the future holds!

Leah - beautiful bride to be & the future Mrs. Davis Prince & her Fabulous Matron of Honor - ME! haha! :-)

Anyways, onto the details of the shower. We had smoked pork tenderloin sandwiches, shrimp salad, marinated salad, sweet & sour green beans, deviled eggs (with caviar on top :-) Thank you Alicia -"make sure you get your caviar " :-) onion dip, cheese ball, wedding cake shaped petifors & the yummiest pecan pie I have ever had (great job Kel!) No Kentucky Derby Event is official without Mint Juleps - now they weren't as strong, but were just as minty & ice cold!

Hope you enjoy this pictures of our fabulous day at "Churchill Downs" AKA the Cizek Home!

All of the Hat Ladies at the party - what a good looking bunch!

Sleep, Glorious Sleep!

Abby is finally putting herself to sleep at night. We tried the let her cry thing & that never panned out. So after our last Dr. appt., we started our new nightly routine. We have a bath between 6 & 7, turn most of the big lights of (lamps are cool) and then we have a bottle to top us off, then I rock her for maybe a minute or two then before she goes to sleep I lay her in her crib. Our Dr. told us that the first night she may cry for an hour & make herself sick...well that was over 2 weeks ago, and she didn't cry but for 15 minutes. Now she doesn't even make a peep. We started putting her to bed at 8pm, but she has changed that to around 7:30pm. It has been really nice knowing what time "mommy & daddy time" can start & I have gotten alot more done. And alot more time for me. She is sleeping until aroun 7:30 every morning to. I cannot express how much this has helped me. I am not "zombie mommy" from her waking in the middle of the night anymore, and I think my waistline appreciates that too!

And we have gone from our 3 naps to 2, one for about an hour around 9am then around 2 or 3 we go down for about 2 hours. It is really nice. She is growing so fast! Abs is also getting her top 4 teeth all together, right now :-) She has had her bottom 2 for a few months. I cannot wait to see her smile with more teefies. I got bit for the first time on Sunday, and YOWWWW! It hurt!!

Anyways, we are enjoying all the milestones & think we may have a walker by the end of the month or Feb. She knows what to do, but just doesn't want to (haha! Like her momma I guess!)

Tootles for now!

Doctor Doctor give me the news!

Just a few of my favorite pictures!

Haha!! No news! haha!! But we did have our 9 month appointment this morning!
Ev thought Abby was about 20lbs & I didn't think so....and momma is always right (well most of the time :-)) Here are Abby's stats at 9 months:

Weight - 18lbs 8 oz - 50%
Height - 28 1/2 in - 75%
Head - 17 1/2 - 50%

She did great & hammed it up for Dr. D. We really love her! She is so warm & friendly! Abby was excited that Dr. D said we could not only have meat, but we can have table food! Noodles, potatoes, cheese, yogurt! Abby made me go to Publix immediately after :-) well not really! So we picked up a few things to try. Hopefully that will go well. And we will begin tonight putting Abby to bed awake....I have spoiled this beautiful girl by rocking her to sleep now for 9mths. I know it will probablly be worse on me, but we have to teach this girl how to go to sleep on her own.

Hope everyone is enjoying their week so far. Tootles for now!

9 Months Old & Other fun info

So Abby turned 9 months old yesterday! I cannot believe she is NINE MONTHS OLD ALREADY! So much has happened and I am loving it all...the good with the bad! We have gotten a few bruises from our cruising adventures! I don't think it will be long before you read a blog titled Walking on Sunshine! Abby is just about ready to take her first steps! CRAZY! Anyways, we did Abby's 9 month pictures yesterday and we couldn't be more happy of how it went. We finally got a family photo and our sweet girl ham'd it up for Miss Suzanne! She has never been a good model...she is more of a diva supermodel :-) But yesterday she acted so great and smiled & gave her "goof goof face". I will post the link as soon as they are up. You can see the famous goof goof face for yourself! She is definately like her momma! haha!

Anyways, my mom gave me the Twlight Series for Christmas & I started reading it on New Year's Eve afternoon. Well I finished the 4th book on Thursday morning. I have to say that I am hooked and cannot wait for the remaining movies to come out. It is truly a book that you will dream about and it just shows how amazing love is! I am going this afternoon with my bestie Carrie to see New Moon! I cannot wait!

Next weekend, My mom & I and other besties are throwing a Kentucky Derby themed shower for my friend Leah! We made hats...and not to brag...they are freakin awesome! So look back for those pictures! I cannot wait!

That is all for now! Tootles!

Abby's 1st Christmas PLUS

Well Christmas has come and gone...and I haven't blogged in over 2 weeks! OMG! That is like a record for me! Anyways, we enjoyed a crazy, exciting & wonderful Christmastime! The Monday before Christmas we went over to our cousins John & Claire P's house to decorate cookies...I am sure we will get to do alot more next year! We did manage to eat part of our cookie (which freaked mommy out) but we suffered no ill effects.

Eating her cookie!

On Christmas morning, we got up and came out to see what Santa had brought!. He brought her a green gingham Pottery Barn Anywhere Chair with her name on it & a tea set. She was really a joy to watch during present opening! She likes paper...I mean, likes to eat paper. haha! Her Nana (my mom & what she will occasionally call herself, but doesnt' really have a grandma name yet? :-)) & Grandpa got her a push around pink car that she loves, her Mimi & PopPop got her a white high chair with her own blonde dolly! And Great grammy & Aunt Cindi got her some fun toys & the Baby Can Read collection...we can't wait to use it! We enjoyed breakfast at home then off to Nana & Grandpa's house for lunch then to Shorter to see our cousins & Mimi & PopPop then to the Pstone Christmas to eat, drink & be merry! We were all tuckered out when we got home that night! We really had alot of fun experiencing Christmas on a new level! I can only imagine how fun next year will be!

Ready to go to church on Christmas Eve

Christmas morning (still in jamjams) in her new chair from Santa

Abby in her chair ready to start her 1st Christmas Day!

Well, if you have read my previous blogs or facebook statuses...we are having a sleeping problem in our house. Abby has been up at least once a night for about an hour for over 2 months. We started letting her "cry it out" last week. And were having some great results...then Sunday rolled around! I finally went in to get her because she was hysterical and was a different cry. And she had pooped her pants, and had been sitting in it. I didn't smell anything so I wouldn't have known. Her privates were all red and so was her hiney...I felt just terrible. So when we woke in the morning, I saw how bad it was. She had a sore & everything was bright red. When I wiped her she squealed in pain! So I called my mom so upset and she came over to check her out & brought us some Resinol. Then Great Grammy brought us some cloth diapers to use instead of real ones. Well we tried the diapers but that didn't work....sooooo we went "nakie" for 2 days to let it air out & heal. Sunday night, she woke up at 12:45. I knew what I would have to do to get some shut-eye for both of us. So I grabbed a comforter, pillow & blanket - and we both went back to sleep on her floor. About an hour later we were joined by dada & brother (oscar) on the floor. So there we all slept!
I just couldn't resist! What a cute little hiney!

Anyways, here are some pictures from our Christmas & of our diaper rash (don't worry these are cute!) Hope you all have had a great 2009 & will have a great 2010! We have been blessed beyond measure this year and can only wait for what next year brings!

December 18th, 2004

On our honeymoon December 19th, 2004

Our family began five years ago today. We began as "college sweethearts" and have come so far from that day. We got married 1 day after I graduated from Auburn...a BIG War Eagle on that one. We have gone through 2 apartments, 2 cities, a dog, me-being a guinea pig for all the OD's in training, ev-gradutating from UABSCO, moving home, buying a house & being graced by God to concieve & birth the most perfect child we could have ever imagined. We have grown so...we have had tons of good days, a few bad ones too. We continue to get what we can out of life. I am just so glad to share mine with my friend, Dada, my Evy!
I hope the next 5 are as memorable as the first!

Our first anniversary, while in the mountains with Ev's family!
