Miss Independent, Miss semi-self sufficent...

Abby thinks she is so good at doing things on her own now, it is hard to stop her. She is doing great with walking and rarely crawls. When she tries to run, she takes two big steps and falls down. I am thankful she isn't so good at that yet. As far as eating goes...this girl is ready for a buffet. haha! We still have some "baby" food and she will eat it, but not if I give her the chance to feed herself first. I am hoping to have no baby food in the house by next week. Abby has been such a good eater - with the exception of white grape juice, that seems to be the only thing she really doesn't like.

She loves...

apples, bananas, grilled cheese, chicken, zuccini, sweet potatoes, pasta, cottage cheese, cheese, mum mums, broccoli, mac & cheese, turkey, pancakes, biscuits & prunes (didn't get that last one from me...yuck!)

to blow rasberries - if she starts she doesn't stop for like 10 minutes

to terrorize her brother Oscar - i mean chase him, poke him, pull his ear hair, and he just doesn't get it

to READ - BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS - this is our life now! For instance she woke up at 7:30 this morning and right after her diaper change we were already wanting to read Noah's Ark.

to point - it is amazing how many things she has realized (that I never had too) like "oh, that's the kitchen ceiling (i haven't really looked up there recently either )

to take a bath - this little girl could be mad as can be and you tell her its bathtime and she lighting bolts it to the bathroom and stand beside the tub patting it. She gets in a just loves it - guess she gets that from me :-)

her grandads - she is really a Papa & Pop Pop's girl now. She will dart past Nana & Mimi straight to them. They take her around and show her pictures...she loves that too!

herself - haha! She loves to look at pictures and videos of herself...she just gets tickled at that baby on the screen.

It is just amazing to look over and see this little girl sitting there. My baby is gone, but she will always be my baby of course. This weekend we saw a 12 day old baby that was a 9 pounder, and she looked incredibly tiny to me. And to think Abs was 6lbs 13 when we came home from the hospital, that really hit home to me!

Well as you can see, she doesn't not like alot of things and we are happy about that! Hope you enjoyed a little glimpse into what the Abster has been up to. We are in full swing of planning her 1st birthday party and cannot believe it has been a year. Tootles for now!

Lounging & eating a mum-mum - these things used to be a miracle, cause they would occupy her for a period of time. Now that's more like 2 minutes or less - they are her potato chips! haha!!

So sweet watching her grow!

& I can't get over how much she has in common w/ our little girl...

Bananas, broccoli, cheese, chicken, grilled cheese, mac&cheese, pasta, & turkey are all favorites here.

The favorite "toy" in our house is our poor doggie, who is too dumb to realize if she's got herself in harm's way. She won't stay perched out of reach. She's happy to dance around the highchair, though.

I'm so happy our girls share a love of books! Storytime is pretty much our favorite morning of the week, & I always have an eager listener for new books. She has a bathtime book that gets read every night, & we change up the bedtime stories.

Does Abs have anything Pinkalicious yet? It's one of our favorite books here!

& just like her mama, we have a serious bath-lover here, too. I'm so proud!

& yep, just like yours, mine is pretty obsessed with her own image. In fact, the easiest way to brush her hair or teeth is to put her in front of the mirror to watch herself.

=) Love y'all!
