28 week appointment!!

So, here we are...only 12 weeks to go! That is crazy to me! Anyways, Everett & I went to see Dr. Lawhon this morning. As i mentioned in my last blog, the wonderful sweet nurse assistant didn't weigh me right at my last appointment. So today, she was like "whooaaa, you couldn't have gained that much in one appt." I didn't say much, just chuckled. I am growing my little girl and I love sweets, so I point fingers at no one :-) So, Dr. Lawhon comes in and first thing tells me that he is going to weigh me again, because that can't be right, and i am sure it is concerning considering crazy weight gain can be a sympton of preeclampsia. I told him that I know she didn't weigh me right at the last appointment because I enjoyed Christmas. He laughed because I hadn't said anything to her, but I just told him I didn't want to tell her how to do her job. Plus, she is so freaking nice...She makes me feel very good! :-) I heart her!

So, we heard Abby's wonderful heartbeat, and Dr. Lawhon felt to see where the head was (from the outside, no fun inner examinations yet) and she is head first engaged and ready to shop :-) And my blood pressure was really good too. So all looks great & little Miss Marshall is growing as expected. We go back next Tuesday for our 4D and we cannot wait!

On another note, our friends Matt & Sara just delivered their daughter Magda (Abby's buddy) last week. We wish them all the best in beginning their journey. We cannot wait to join them!!

Tootles!!

I got a Yob!

Well, if you didn't know...I got laid-off about 2 weeks ago. Yep, the economy stinks and so there went my job. But no hard feelings, and to be honest I was pretty excited about it. I have really enjoyed being home and content to stay that way.

Then opportunity knocked...this morning to be exact. I was offered a job to fill in for a lady whose daughter is having a baby, and she will be going to Texas to help her for about a month. So I start Monday, and will work until the end of February or shortly after. I am glad to go back to work and meet new people and learn new things. I know it will make me appreciate even more spending my time at home with Abigail, when she arrives.
Anyways, here is a picture from my free ultrasound that I had yesterday. I was the farthest along they did, and somehow I snuck into it. When i called they told me they were doing ultrasounds up to 30 weeks....well that was not the case. And any preggie girl knows that laying on your back, the bigger you get, the harder it is for your body to get blood to everywhere. Needless to say, a training session is no place for a big un' like me :-) So i got hot and had to take off my sweater...thank goodness I had shaved my armpits :-) ahah!! The pictures are so cool, and they told me Abby is beautiful....i maybe just a little partial but she does have quite a beautiful profile...looks just like her daddy to me. But, we will know more when we go for our 4D in 2 weeks. Tootles!!

Big Ole Belly

26 weeks preggo...finally a belly

So forever I have been told how small I am...well that has gone by the wayside, and now I actually look pregnant. I would have to say Christmas or right after was when i really popped. It is hard to imagine how much bigger my tummy is going to get. At my last visit, I told Dr. Lawhon that I had some pains (normally toward the end of the day) underneath my right rib. Well, that would be one of my organs which has shifted into that place to make room for Princess Abby! I don't have much real estate because I am a shrimper, so I cannot imagine what I will look like at 35 weeks.

I am no longer working, and really enjoying staying home. Everything is about to get so busy so it will be nice to spend these last few months relaxing and preparing and also getting plenty of sleep...which may be fleeting because Abby seems like she may be up all the time.

We got back to the doctor in 2 weeks, then 1 week later we have the 4D, then the next week I will have another appointment. This experience has flown by and I truly have enjoyed it. I feel so great and love having a belly! Cheerio for now!

Pictures...La got crafty!

Miss Becky at work gave Abby this sweet little lamb, that plays "Jesus Loves Me"
The canvas I painted for Abby's room...I am pretty proud of myself :-)

The 2 pictures for Abby's room we have so far. My Grandma Diem bought Abby the 3 angels from Storkland...I love it and am sure they will watch over my sweet girl as she sleeps.

Not about Abby...but another canvas I painted for our bedroom.
I have been wanting something for the wall above our bed forever, so I painted our monogram.

25 weeks - Update

So this morning was my 25 week appointment and everything went well. I had my glucose tolerance test, so I had to drink the "super-yummy" extra sugary hawaiian punch...they pricked my finger and my sugar level was normal. YAY! No diabetes for me...thankfullly cause i loves me some sugary sweets and Abby does too. Also, she is measuring on track and her heartbeat sounded wonderful.

We go back in 3 weeks for our 28 week appointment, then start our 2 week visits after that...OMG!!! Time is flying by...and i know it will only go by faster!

Also, on February 3rd, we will be having our 4-D ultrasound...so I will be posting those findings when we have them. I cannot wait!!

Christmas Suprises...

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas with your friends & family. We did, and really enjoyed ourselves. We realize this was our last Christmas with things "the way they were..." Needless to say, it was alot of fun getting presents for mommy & daddy and for Miss Abigail. She is destined to be spoiled rotten...just like her mommy and her brother, Oscar. :-)

Anyways, my BIG Christmas suprise was Abby's bedding. When i saw the bag, I knew it was her bedding. Which made me laugh and feel very excited. Two weeks ago, I had asked my Hollis (my sis-in-law) if she knew when the bedding would be in. I was just ready to see it, and start the nursery. She told me she would check...but i never heard anything after that. Well Tuesday, I harassed her again :-) And asked about my bedding...She told me it had shipped. On Christmas morning, I learned that not only Hollis & my Mom, but Joyce & Kate were in cahoots! They all fibbed to me because my mom had schemed with Hollis earlier to make sure I didn't know a thing. I love this type of scheming :-) It really made getting her bedding that much more special.

Well this meant that Everett would start receiving daily "nagging" about asking when he would put the crib up...I had told him January...but you know what happens. I COULDN'T WAIT! So yesterday morning I woke up and found Ev with all the pieces out of the box and reading the directions. He is a master at putting things together, and had it up in less than an hour! The crib looks great in the room...Being the dork that I am, I even mimicked putting Abby in the crib. I can't wait until she is actually in the crib!!

I put all the bedding together yesterday and I absolutely love the bedding! I can't wait to get my two pieces that are being painted and then my pink chair, and start finishing it up. Pictures soon to follow, as well as a new belly pic. I guess I have popped now....Abby & I have been enjoying all of the holiday food. And I am realizing that my lack of belly real estate will make for a whiney Lauren, during the remainder of the pregnancy. I still feel Great and love feeling Abby have her Disco Party.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
