1 Month Check Up

This morning we had our 1 month check up! I have been so excited to get her weighed again, since we had trouble gaining in the beginning. Well my little butter bean has grown to 8 lbs 3 ounces!! I was soooo proud of her! I knew she had grown, but I wasn't sure how much. She is in the 25 percentile in weight, which is what I was as a baby. But my little girl has grown 1 1/2 inches in length to 22 1/2 :-) So she is in the 90 percentile in height! How funny!!

Anyways, we had a great appointment...but then had to get out Hep shot. What a huge needle for a little thigh! I didn't cry this time, but I am preparing myself for the next appointment when we begin immunizations...when they tell you to bring your baby tylenol that tells you. But Abby did pretty good with this shot. She didn't like it and did the silent scream to begin with then let her rip. I fed her right after so that calmed her down.

On another note, Scott & Kate took Miss Addison home from the hospital today. Please pray for them as they get into a routine and into their new life as parents...I didn't wear makeup for a week or get out of my pjs when we first brought Abby home! I wouldn't trade those dark circles or sleepless nights for anything!

Tonight we may be attempting our first tub bath since her belly button is looking good. Will post more on that fun experience later :-)

Sorry I didn't post yesterday but we have been so busy!!! Yesterday, my wonderful sister in law Kate had her baby girl, Addison!! My sweet mother came over at 7am to watch Abby until my Grandma came at 8:30am. I was at the hospital waiting on my new niece to arrive. She didn't make us wait like Abby did...thankfully!! She was born at 12:23pm and weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 20 inches long. She is a beautiful little girl with a full head of jet black hair...she is ready for the beauty shop :-)

Today Abby and I went over to Baptist East to visit and for her to meet her new cousin!! She was really excited and they took to each other nicely. Abby just stared at Addison...it was really cute! I know they will be so close!

Tommorow we go to the pediatrician for shots (YUCKY!!) and to get weighed...I will post our weight gain! I am hoping we are heavier than birth weight! My little girl loves to eat, so hopefully that will be an easy task!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

This morning I woke up to feed Abby at about 5:30. After she ate, we crawled into bed with Daddy and snuggied til' almost 9:30! It was pure heaven! Then Daddy cooked momma french toast, eggs and sausage...I had my first cup of coffee in forever, and i love me some coffee!! Now we are just relaxing and Abby is snuggie'n with her daddy!

Today, I am more thankful than ever to my mother, mother in law, grandmothers, aunts for the sacrifices they have made for me throughout my life. Being a mother is no easy job...but is ever so rewarding. Watching Abby this morning in her crib playing and making noises gave me such a sense of accomplishment that i didn't expect. I knew that the moment I first saw her was a defining moment in my life. I only hope I am as good a mother as those that I have been lucky to see in action in my life!

My next post will include a picture of my beautiful niece Addison! Please send prayers to Kate & Scott today as they go to the hospital and tommorow as they go through labor and delivery to meet their little girl! I know the emotions we experienced and cannot wait for them to have their defining moment!

Happy Mother's Day to all of those mommies out there!!!

One Month Old Already!!

I cannot believe that yesterday my little butter bean turned a month old! I thought back where I was during the day, and it just baffles me how fast time has flown. We go to the doctor next Wednesday for our checkup and I am sooo excited. She has definately fattened up, and I cannot wait to see how much she has gained!! She continues to make us laugh! She is definately not "going green"...when she poops I have a tendency to catch it too early. I don't want her sitting around in her own poo...but it never fails, if you put a clean diaper on her...she will poop again, and again. As a matter of fact, we just wasted about 4 diapers about 15 minutes ago...cause she just kept poopin! Well if you gotta go :-) haha!!

Also, my big girl slept in her own crib for the past 2 nights. Last night she actually slept for about 4 hours right off the bat! I don't see my fidgeting, hungry, titty baby sleeping through the night anytime soon. But I don't mind...i love the early morning feedings where she smiles when she is done :-) Not at mommy...not yet...i will definately post when our first real smile happens - a picture too!

Tonight, mommy & daddy are going to Wynlakes for dinner, so my wonderful parents are coming over to watch aka spoil Abby for a little while!

Too Cute!!

Updates!!

This weekend was wonderful! Abby has started to sleep longer at night, well not every night but most nights. She only wakes up about 2-3 times now, and that is about 3ish hours during feedings. On Sunday, Ev took the 1am feeding and let me sleep! It was soooo nice to have more sleep. On Sunday night Abby's umbilicial cord stump FINALLY fell off! Her belly button is looking so cute...it still has a little crust so no tub bath yet...but I will definately post pictures of her first real bath. Abby is also starting to love her baby einstein play gym. She has definately started to look around alot more and realize things. She also coos and make other funny sounds...we call her squeaky sometimes, because she is constantly making sounds and moving around.

I cannot believe she will be a month old on Thursday. My life has been so busy, with feedings, changing diapers, cleaning bottles, pumping, etc... it has truly flown by. One thing Abby and I do every morning, is have snuggy time. After her morning feeding, usually around 6 or 7 am, she gets back into bed with me. I prop her up on her Boppy and cradle her in my arms and we sleep for another 3 hours. She sleeps her best when she can hear her mommy's heart beat! I truly cherish this time...anyways, that is all for now!!

First Visit to Grandma & Grandpa's House

Well, since my mom won't decide what she wants Abby to call her and I like Paw Paw for my dad...but we already have a Pop Pop and I don't wanna confuse her... we will go with the generic for now, anyways! My parents were so sweet to keep Abby Marie (as my momma calls her) while Daddy went to hang out with a few friends and mommy got a much needed and much appreciated pedicure! My dogs look good now!! haha!! Abby loved her room at their house! It is decorated in pink & chocolate brown, and has lady bugs! It is really cute! I cannot wait for Abby to really "see" it!!

Today we had alot of fun with her on her tummy time mat! She actually paid attention to everything above her. She didn't like being on her tummy and almost rolled over. And today, O think she actually noticed her brother - Oscar - walking around. haha! It is so funny to realize she may notice things!

Anyways, my sweet girl will be 4 weeks old on Thursday and I can hardly believe it!
